As the Academy Web Designer, you will be responsible for implementing all visual elements involved in giving learners a great experience on our Learning Management System (LMS). You will work in collaboration with our Design team to ideate, design and improve our LMS UI, navigation, graphics and in course resources. You will combine the art of design with the science UI with the design principles of Staffbase at it’s core. You will be responsible for the translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code. There are times you will be expected to work independently to meet tight deadlines following design guidelines.

An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in web or UI design or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. You will have a good understanding of SEO and be expert level. Additional proficiency with programming languages and ability to work independently are key for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Use markup languages like CSS, HTML, JavaScript to create user-friendly LMS front end pages
  • Maintain and improve website
  • Create course specific visual content like graphs, badges and icons
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed
  • Collaborate with our LMS provider to improve usability and enjoyment for learners
  • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
  • Create quality mockups and prototypes
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
  • Testing and improving the user experience on desktop and mobile environments
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Define how the Academy looks and how it works
  • Translate UI/UX design wireframes to actual code

Your Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven work experience as a Front-end developer
  • Hands on experience with markup languages
  • Experience with JavaScript, CSS and jQuery
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Understanding of layout aesthetics
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
  • Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop and content management systems
  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
  • Excellent design principles and aesthetics
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving benchmarks
