Staffbase is looking for a Head of Data to join and lead our data team. You and your team will progressively help transform Staffbase (internal analytics) as well as Staffbase’s customers (customer facing products), into truly data-driven organizations. As a leader you will leverage your leadership skills to mentor and grow a diverse and highly-skilled team of Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers - as an evangelist, you will spear-head Staffbase becoming the leading Employee Communication Management Platform with industry leading analytics and recommendations capabilities.

In this role, you will be reporting to our VP Product, as smart data usage is key to our company's success. This is a unique opportunity to scale and build a team that will revolutionize the employee communications market for some of the largest companies in the world.

What you’ll doing:

  • Establish and promote an outcome-focused way of working, mentor and help grow your team, helping them refine their skills by providing continuous feedback and guidance
  • Lead transformative initiatives to help Staffbase become a fully data-driven organization by leveraging the existing awareness, as well as the incredible potential of data to make truly data-informed decisions
  • Identify opportunities to enhance our GCP-based data ecosystem and leverage the impact of analytics engineering
  • Help spear-head our data product strategy by working closely with the product team and product leadership identify how we might leverage technologies like machine learning, NLP and recommendation engines to build leading data products for enterprise organizations
  • You and your team will partner with Product Management, Product Operations, Revenue Operations, Customer Success and Finance to ensure that analytics and data is available to make key decisions
  • Implement and improve our mid- and long-term data and analytics strategy, balancing key internal and external business needs

What you need to be successful:

  • A servant leadership mindset. At Staffbase, we truly believe that success is achieved by empowering and enabling people to do their best work
  • Leadership experience as well as a proven track record in building and growing a data team including Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists in a scaling and agile SaaS organization (ideally B2B)
  • Deep understanding of data (and technologies), as well as a strong business and product sense with a passion for analytical rigor
  • Ability to synthesize analyses, and drive high-quality decisions within the product and business teams and a keen interest in enabling your team to do the same
  • You standout with a strong passion to continuously improve what being a data-driven organization means and have the ability to think big and out of the box it times of strategic & tactical challenges
  • Bonus: Experience (both hands-on as well as empower your team) leveraging technologies like NLP, machine learning and recommender systems for customer facing products
