From Chemnitz to New York — and everywhere the work matters

Not the pairing you'd expect. That's exactly why it works. Great ideas don't need a famous address.

We started in Chemnitz and stayed, then grew into New York, Berlin, London, Minneapolis–Saint Paul, and Sydney. Not a playbook. Just the right people, in the right places.

We're a hybrid company at heart. Our hubs are where ideas collide, relationships deepen, and the work gets sharper — not because a policy says so, but because the work is better for it.

What that looks like in practice depends on your team and location. Some roles ask for two office days a week, others have more flexibility. Either way, we'll be upfront about what a role requires, so you know what to expect before you apply.

Chemnitz — where it all started

Staffbase was born in Chemnitz in 2014. What began as a startup idea is now a global company, but this is still where the heartbeat is. Chemnitz is our biggest office: more than 160 people across engineering, product, go-to-market, and general operations.

The office matches how we work: open, collaborative, and not too serious. Open-plan spaces built for conversations that turn into shipped features, plus a basketball room for the ones that don't need a screen. We're embedded in the local scene too, including a sponsorship with the NINERS Chemnitz.

Chemnitz isn't where we ended up by default. It's the place three founders chose to build something that now serves 1,500+ enterprise customers worldwide. That's not a footnote in our story — it's the whole point.

New York City — where we meet the market

New York is our Americas HQ, and the center of gravity for our go-to-market teams. Around 70 people across sales, marketing, and customer success work from our Tribeca office, close to the customers we serve and the energy that keeps the team sharp.

The NYC office runs on momentum: a lively, people-first space where collaboration and community blur, by design. If Chemnitz is where the product is born, New York is where it meets the world.

We didn't open an Americas HQ for the press release. We did it because serving 1,500+ enterprise customers across time zones takes teams close to the market, close to each other, and close to the work.

For me the office in Chemnitz is a great mix between some quite silent and some really pulsing days. I am there every day and enjoy the community of the different teams and the different strategic perspectives. In my opinion you can learn a lot more when listening to other people in the office and get fast feedback to questions that are rising.

It's very comfortable, we have a great space, there's amazing food places around, my commute is nice and easy and if you are considering joining, I know we value remote jobs and working from home now a days, but coming to the office and sharing with others can be so enriching.
