Cladtek is a leading provider of corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) solutions, specialising in mechanically lined pipe (MLP) and weld overlay cladding. The company offers CRA-clad piping products and services across onshore, offshore, and subsurface applications, including geothermal, carbon capture, and hydrogen storage. Cladtek operates manufacturing facilities in Indonesia, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia and supports a global workforce of 2,000 employees.
Cladtek deployed Staffbase in partnership with Nixfon Technologies, Staffbase's authorised partner for Southeast Asia. Cladtek reached its frontline-heavy workforce by replacing fragmented channels with a single, mobile-first communication layer, giving all employees a direct and reliable way to receive updates across global manufacturing sites.
For a global manufacturer, communication is mission-critical, but 70% of Cladtek's workforce had no access to email. Frontline teams in Batam, Rio, and Dammam were relying on screenshotted memos shared through WhatsApp. Four problems made this unsustainable:
Triple-facility isolation
With the majority of its workforce concentrated across three sites in Indonesia, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia, employees on the shop floor frequently felt cut off from the global business.
The lean team trap
A small global communications team supporting multiple regions became a bottleneck for every HR announcement and operational update.
Fragmented channels
Only 30% of employees are desk workers and had access to email. The remaining 70% had no reliable, direct channel to receive company updates.
The localisation myth
Simply translating a memo isn’t localisation. Different cultural norms across regions meant global messages didn’t always land — or resonate.
Cladtek partnered with Nixfon Technologies, Staffbase’s authorised partner for Southeast Asia, to deploy a branded Staffbase Employee App and Intranet as the single source of truth for all 2,000+ employees.
The platform was designed to meet frontline workers where they are: mobile-first, accessible without a desk, and structured to reflect the realities of multi-site, multi-cultural manufacturing operations. Content was decentralised, giving representatives from HR, Operations, Safety, and other departments the authority to publish their own updates within a governed framework.
Mobile-first access for the 70% of employees previously unreachable by email
Decentralised publishing across HR, Operations, and Safety — no central bottleneck
Localised content by region, informed by real usage data (food menus in Brazil; HR benefits and training in Batam)
Direct leadership-to-frontline communication for the first time
Shift from site-based silos to a measurable "One Team" culture
For the first time, Cladtek could track communication reach and act on real engagement data — not assumptions
Departments communicate directly with their teams, freeing the central comms team from being a bottleneck

Operations excellence depends on clarity and consistency. When our operations teams understand priorities, safety expectations, and performance targets in real time, execution improves. A unified communication platform strengthens that connection between strategy and execution, ensuring we operate as one global organisation.
Alignment is critical for our global manufacturing organisation. This platform is the direct link between our global strategy and daily execution, ensuring priorities are understood consistently across all regions and time zones. By fully engaging our people, the platform is the key to effectively executing as a local partner — ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction globally.”
Digitalisation allows for tracking and specific metrics. If you don’t track, you don’t know how to improve. This is essential for growth. We wanted our people to understand they are part of something bigger than just the place they show up to work.
With engagement benchmarks exceeded, Cladtek is now expanding its use of Staffbase — moving from a communications tool to the foundation of a broader digital employee experience.
Next steps include direct leadership-to-frontline communication, smarter content targeting informed by real usage data, and deeper integration across HR and operational workflows.
For Cladtek, Staffbase isn't just a news feed. It's how 2,000+ employees — wherever they work — stay connected to the strategy, the team, and each other.
