We exist so no employee gets left behind

In most large organizations, the people at headquarters gets the information, the tools, and now the AI. Everyone else gets fragments. We're building the trusted place where every employee, from the corner office to the night shift, can participate, find what actually matters to them, and understands what to do next.

The simple idea that started it all and still shapes everything we build

Frank Wolf spent years as a consultant building large enterprise intranets. They were complex, expensive, and ultimately used by only a fraction of the workforce. When he met Martin Böhringer and Lutz Gerlach, two fellow entrepreneurs and university friends, they saw a massive gap nobody was addressing.

In 2014, they founded Staffbase and launched the world's first employee app, built on a simple belief: the employee hardest to reach sets the bar for everyone else.

More than 1,500 enterprises later, Staffbase has grown into a multi-channel platform for the world's most complex companies. Still founder-led, the belief that every employee deserves experiences that are simple, clear, and relevant has never wavered. It shapes every product decision we make, and in the age of AI, it is the blueprint for what comes next.

Our biggest learning? If employees don’t use it, nothing changes

Adoption across every employee group is our north star

Staffbase drives adoption across frontline, deskless, and office-based workforces by delivering communications and knowledge across the channels employees already use. Our multichannel approach helps organizations reach employees consistently, whether they are on a shop floor, in transit, behind a desk, or in the field.

Alaska Airlines shows 99% employees registered and 96% active monthly. MAX Burgers shows 97% employees registered and 86% active monthly.

Customers don’t just launch Staffbase. They grow with us.

Unlike most enterprise software vendors, Staffbase invests heavily in the people and expertise behind the platform. An entirely in-house team of experts across three continents stays close through every stage, from launch onwards, with the industry knowledge and hands-on engagement that turns Staffbase from a software vendor into a trusted partner, which is reflected in a consistently high 97% customer satisfaction rate.

Staffbase easily fits into the tools enterprises already work with

Staffbase works in deep partnership with leading digital workplace platforms like Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Google Workspace, and enterprise HR systems to connect communications, knowledge, and action across the digital workplace. Rather than replacing existing investments, Staffbase serves as a critical bridge across systems, reducing fragmentation and helping organizations deliver more connected experiences at scale.

Our next chapter: AI every employee can trust

AI that works for the entire workforce, not just a few

The employees who need answers most are often the hardest to reach. Staffbase meets every employee where they already work, giving them an AI that helps them get guidance, understand policies, and complete tasks as part of their daily flow.

The Staffbase AI Quality Layer ensures relevance and trust

The AI Quality Layer sits between the model and the employee, checking that every answer is accurate, contextual, and aligned with your organization before it reaches anyone. Analytics and feedback loops keep it improving over time.

Governed knowledge for enterprise AI experiences

Purpose-built AI assistants help organizations monitor their knowledge base for outdated, contradictory, and ungoverned content, ensuring every employee gets answers grounded in verified, up-to-date information.

A lot of the systems we looked at had significant limitations out of the box. Staffbase had, without a doubt, the most flexibility based on what we were trying to do from a business standpoint.

Where digital workplace leaders come together

VOICES

VOICES is Staffbase's flagship annual event and has brought together thousands of internal communications, HR, and IT leaders every year since 2019. More than a conference, it is where the digital workplace community comes to hear from industry pioneers, discover what is shaping the future of work, and connect with the people driving change inside the world's most complex organizations.

Five additional panels show individual speakers presenting on stage — a woman in a blazer gesturing expressively, a man in a white shirt with a lanyard, a woman in a navy uniform with a lapel mic, and a woman in a light blazer holding a remote.
