Staffbase Wins Deloitte Fast 50 Award: Employee App Startup Is Among the Top 10 Fastest-Growing Technology Companies

New York/London - November 8, 2019

Staffbase, the world’s leading provider of apps to improve employee communication, was awarded the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award at a ceremony in Hamburg. The annual award is presented to the fastest-growing companies in the German technology sector. The rankings are based on sales growth percentage over the past four financial years (2015–2018), during which Staffbase achieved growth of more than 4,000 percent. This figure secures the SaaS startup based in the German state of Saxony with ninth place in the coveted competition.

  • Startup Staffbase is at the forefront of German technology companies.

  • With more than 4,000 percent growth, the company sits at number 9 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 list.

  • The Staffbase employee app helps companies reach and connect with their dispersed, global workforces.

As a mobile channel, the Staffbase app allows large and international companies to securely reach all of their global employees — whether they work in the office, on the factory floor, or in the field. The app gives employees improved access to corporate information and tools for the digital workplace, including personnel and organizational systems as well as existing intranets. It enables employees to engage in open dialogues, which have been shown to significantly increase job satisfaction.

“The digital transformation has fundamentally changed people’s expectations in regard to services. They want fast access to information and easy-to-use platforms — whether it’s ridesharing, delivery services, or daily news. This expectation not only applies to private life, but also to work. Staffbase ensures that people can benefit from the many advantages of apps in the workplace.”, says CEO and co-founder Dr. Martin Böhringer

The idea for an employee app was conceived by the founding team of Dr. Martin Böhringer and Dr. Lutz Gerlach from Chemnitz, and Frank Wolf from Dresden. Launched in November 2014, the software product has proven itself in hundreds of organizations worldwide, making Staffbase the market leader for employee apps. The company’s more than 350 customers include Adidas, Deutsche Telekom, DPDHL, and MAN. Staffbase apps have received numerous awards, most recently winning their second consecutive “Employee App of the Year” at the Inkometa Industry Awards in May 2019, where their customer BayWa took the top prize.

“We started this race five years ago with a prediction that the call in the workforce for transparent corporate communications would only grow louder. To be able to react quickly in today’s fast-changing work environment, companies need a digital channel that’s more wide-reaching and immediate than an employee newspaper or a mass email,” said Mr. Wolf at the award ceremony. “Well-managed companies understand that there are no ifs, ands, or buts when it comes to the satisfaction of their employees — effective communication must be a top priority, and we help them to implement it. This mission also applies to Staffbase. ‘People First’ has been our motto and the basis for our growth.”

Staffbase has raised a total of EUR 30 million in capital since it was founded, with the renowned US investor Insight Venture Partners leading a recent financing round. The startup’s strong growth is also reflected in its number of employees, which more than doubled last year. The company’s 270 employees hail from more than 30 countries and are based internationally at offices in Amsterdam, Cologne, Dresden, London, Munich, and New York, in addition to its Chemnitz headquarters.
